Summary

Young mountaineer Vadim Druelle, 19, flies to Nepal with one goal in mind: his childhood dream, to climb Manaslu, one of the highest peaks in the world. Originally from Morzine, in Haute-Savoie, Vadim takes us to the other side of the world for a rapid ascent without oxygen.

Through this short film, he shares his experience, his emotions and his difficulties, for a result filled with humility.

The choice of the festival

His name is Vadim, he is 19 years old and he is not short of breath! The proof is in the pudding, as he sets off to climb Manaslu and its 8,163 m with only his confidence and his GoPro. He recounts his journey, his doubts, and his joys as he films himself and it works! It feels like we’re at his side and experiencing the suspense of the climb… A refreshing first film.
