Summary

Passionate about photography and the cold, wildlife photographer Jérémie Villet travels alone through the white landscapes of the northern hemisphere armed with his pulka and telephoto lens, looking for animals that live in extreme cold.

During an expedition in the Canadian North, Jérémie is about to explore the wild and extreme Yukon region, with the ultimate goal of photographing the legendary mountain goat. Difficult access to the goat’s mountain habitat coupled with the freezing temperatures will make the task extremely challenging.

This film allows us a glimpse into an unknown fast-changing world via the passion and tenacity of an adventurous photographer.

This film is supported by the Aventure & Découverte festival in Val d’Isère where it won the Aigle d’or de l’aventure 2022. The Chamonix and Val d’Isère festivals have a close partnership.

The choice of the festival

Jérémie Villet is passionate about nature, photography and winter. White allows him to create images with a focus solely on his subject. Together with filmmaker Mathieu le lay, he sets off for the Yukon in search of the elusive and difficult to photograph rocky mountain goat. In mountains that were a backdrop to the great gold rush and to the novels of Jack London, Jérémy disappears into the background, bivouac buried under the snow, waiting motionless. This film was awarded the Golden Eagle at the Aventures et Découvertes festival in Val d’Isère 2022.
