Mount Logan

In the spring of 2019, Helias (mountaineer and skier), Thomas (snowboarder), Alexandre (mountaineer and monoskier) and Gregory (whitewater specialist) set out to ski down the East Ridge of Canada’s highest peak, Mount Logan (5,959 m), in the Yukon, a particularly isolated region. A world first. An extreme adventure.

Leaving in total autonomy from the edge of the Gulf of Alaska to reach the Pacific Ocean via the Columbia River, it took them 48 days to cover 45 km on foot, 241 on skis and 367 by kata-raft. Between bad weather, bears, and grandiose landscapes, this film shares their unique experience.

The choice of the festival

This expedition to Mount Logan is remarkable in many ways. Total commitment, lightness of the means used, autonomy, ambition of the objective. The film bears witness to the best that modern mountaineering has to offer, in a spirit worthy of the pioneers.
