Over a career spanning 20 years, the guides Emmanuel Pellissier and Sam Beaugey
and their client and friend Fraçois Calvarin, the ‘Sales Gosses’ gang (the book by Sam Beaugey published by Editions Guérin) recounts an aspect of the guides profession – that of far flung adventures – through fifteen expeditions carried out across the globe. With their inimitable humour, they describe the subtle nuance that exists between a professional relationship and that of a deep friendship. Building a different way of guiding, while keeping the same spark as when they were climbing as amateurs. The aim is to share the discovery of unexplored places with the help of their colleague Christophe Profit, and achieve new routes or new combinations of polar crossings, kites and climbing. The aim is to put François on an equal footing by sharing their skills. The technical level is less important than the spirit of their adventures and sharing the same passion.
