At the end of this 2022 We are launching a great call for projects in partnership with Ushuaïa TV and FODACIM. The selection will be made on the basis of the project’s file and a 17.500€ prize will be awarded to the winner.

The Chamonix Film Festival is partnering with Ushuaïa TV and the FODACIM to launch a call for projects as part of the 1st edition of the Ushuaïa TV Environment and Mountains Film Prize. This is an opportunity for filmmakers to propose a 52-minute film project illustrating the channel’s themes such as biodiversity, the environment or the protection of species in the mountains.

The director will be able to work with the producer of his choice.

The winning project will receive

• A co-production of Ushuaïa TV worth 15.000€ to be concluded with the producer of the film.
• A FODACIM grant of 2.500€.
• A preview of the film at the Chamonix Film Festival in June 2024.
• The broadcast of the film on Ushuaïa TV as the first broadcaster.

The calendar

• Reception of projects until Wednesday, March 15, 2023.
• Pitch by the director of the 3 best selected projects to the Ushuaïa TV editorial team.
• Presentation of the “Ushuaïa TV Environment and Mountains Film Award” during the Chamonix Film Festival in June 2023.
• Preview of the film at the Chamonix Film Festival in June 2024.

The rules

• The director may associate himself with the producer of his choice.
• The project files must be sent in French.

They must include

• An extended synopsis,
• A note of intention and direction,
• A filmography of the director and producer,
• A technical sheet indicating the title, the duration of the project, the composition of the artistic team, the technical means and the proposed shooting locations
• The list of research organizations and scientific contributors,
• A budget and a financing plan.

The selection

Ushuaïa TV will select projects according to the following criteria

• Respect of the channel’s editorial line,
• the relevance of the project
• the financial feasibility of the project.
